Join Our Team!We are looking for a motivated and skilled Range Leading Hand. You''ll play a key role in managing Defence training areas and ranges, ensuring safety and efficiency in a technically complex environment. Working as part of the Training Area and Range Management (TARM) team, you''ll liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality services under the Defence EMOS contract. This is a hands-on role that requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to exemplary customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate and deliver Range Services Daily Briefings.Undertake roles of the TARM Supervisor in their absence.Leading Hand allowance- 5 and below (only 4 staff in total).Use of Range Communications.Work in Remote Locations.Work with Target Systems.Work in support of Army Exercises.Work in a small team environment.Lifting and manual handling.Use Defence Computer or Paper-Based System to read and advise on customer booking enquiries.Facilitate movement onto and off the Range area.Conduct Range maintenance as allocated.Be a member of the Fire Response Team.About YouSuitability for Defence security clearance (Australian citizenship mandatory).Intermediate literacy and computer skills.Must hold a current MR (or higher) Australian Drivers Licence.Must have or be capable of attaining a workplace first aid qualification to National Certificate Level 2 standard.Must have or be capable of attaining current operator licences for all Range vehicles and equipment.Must have or be capable of attaining Fire Qualifications in Wildfire Response and Suppression.The successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, achieve the highest level of safety, quality of work, and have a genuine passion for excellent customer service.Previous experience working in the Defence environment is highly regarded.About Us:Our Downer Facilities & Asset Services business provides end-to-end facilities management and asset lifecycle support services for Australias critical social and economic infrastructure.
