Subsidence Advisory NSW operates for the community in coal mining areas of New South Wales, Australia, and is responsible for administering the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act. Expert advice is provided to property owners, government departments and authorities, local councils, community organisations and industries within Mine Subsidence Districts throughout NSW.About the teamThe Claimant Outcome North Team operates within the Newcastle and Hunter region, primarily administering the sections of the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act that relate to claims for compensation, development approvals and responding to emergency, urgent and temporary actions arising from mine subsidence events.About the roleThis role will investigate and assess claims for compensation, monitor and review technical reports & documentation, manage repairs and emergency works, process building applications, provide advice and technical services and participate in an on-call roster for the response to mine subsidence events.Key responsibilitiesUndertake investigations of residential properties for claims of mine subsidence damage. Prepare scopes of repair and estimates as required.Assess Building Applications for compliance with the Surface Development Guidelines within Mining Districts.Participate in the 24hr emergency response roster, and respond to emergency mine events.Project manage repairs to properties damaged by mine subsidence.Implementing policies and guidelines determined by Subsidence Advisory NSW relating to surface development to minimise risk to the community and limit the liability of Subsidence Advisory.Maintain good working relationships with claimants, the community, contractors and other stakeholders.Implementing appropriate action to eliminate danger and/or undertake repairs in relation to mine subsidence events.To be successful you willHave experience in residential construction methodologies.
