With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business and leisure events alike.We are looking for an Accounts Clerk to join our team and support the Finance function, to ensure the smooth back-end running of the hotel. In this role, youll play a key role in ensuring accurate day-to-day financial processing in line with IHGs standards.A little taste of your day-to-dayEvery day is different, but mostly you will:Input journal entries and process invoices and expense reportsManage accounts receivable and payable (invoicing, payment processing, reconciliation)Perform bank reconciliations and record transactionsMaintain records in the accounting system and organize financial documentationAssist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reportsOrganize and file accounting records for audit and compliance purposesPrepare data and documents as required by the finance teamSupport the Assistant Manager with the daily finance workflowCoordinate with departments (e.g., F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping) for accurate expense trackingRespond to ad-hoc requests or tasks as directed by the finance teamWhat we need from youAbility to work autonomously, be proactive and take accountability for workloadHigh level of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail12 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles (hospitality experience preferred)Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP software is an advantageProficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skillsTertiary studies in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field (preferred)Previous experience within the Hotel Industry or within Tourism and Hospitality is desiredFluency in the English language both written and verbalImpeccable grooming standards and good personal hygieneFull working rights within Australia with no restrictionsWhat you can expect from usJoin us and youll become part of the global IHG family and like all families, all our individual team members share some winning characteristics.
