Brief DescriptionThe CNC machine operator is responsible for using design programs and software that is used in conjunction with the machines to create an automated process for manufacturing products. The CNC Operator will calculate the amount of material to be fed into the machine and make adjustments to the operating speed based on vibrations and sounds that may indicate a malfunction. Upon completion, the operator will inspect the fabricated part to make sure it matches the specifications. The operator is responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment, changing parts when appropriate, and the overall running of the machine.Responsibilities and DutiesPrecision drilling tappingUsing and maintaining all factory machineryCutting and shaping materials including plastic, aluminium, MDF, and steelMaintaining the whole surrounding working area and making sure it is kept neat, organised, and clean including being free from excess materials and cut-offsKeeping the sacrificial sheet in orderMaking sure you have the correct tools for the correct job and replacing them accordinglyMaintaining 100% accuracy and specifically ensuring all dibond panels have no sharp or burred anglesMaintaining all material-rackingProviding a weekly report on material levelsDemonstrate and display leadershipOperate the forkliftMeasure custom elements that need to be made with the CNCWhen CNC is not busy, attend to other warehouse duties such as cleaning and organisingGo on-site where neededDevelop innovative work practices and better ways of doing processesUnderstanding and interpreting blueprintsCutting components into precision partsProgramming for new ordersChanging the tooling of the machineMaintaining the material stock levels and managing the re-order processProperly and safely load and unload raw materialsAbide by all OH&S and WH&S rules and regulationsUse gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirementsUnderstand, interpret, and edit G-code programmingRecognise, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and toolingUnderstand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsetsPerform daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machineryComply with all company policies, specifications, regulations, and instructionsLiaise with suppliers and materials companiesAbility to manoeuvre sheetsRecognise when the machine is not at peak performance and how to increase output and fix errorsMonitor the condition of CNC and drill bits and replace them when worn outReporting To: Operations Manager #J-18808-Ljbffr
