At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to support more Australians achieve their dream of homeownership, because we believe everyone deserves the chance to build their future.About the roleThe purpose of this role is to sustainably deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, by contributing to the control environment and working alongside team members within Finance control with a focus on trust accounting.This role is perfect for a proactive Assistant Accountant who is looking for that next step into a financial accounting space. You are a natural problem solver with sound attention to detail. Success in this role will come from learning quickly and ensuring robust controls surround key processes, including bank reconciliations, broker commissions, and trust accounting.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for trust bank reconciliation, understanding of loan level transaction and intertrust cash movement/transfers.Ownership of the broker commissions process, from sourcing the reports from the loan system to reviewing the results, making periodic payments and posting accounting journals into the general ledger.Key contributor to the month-end close by posting journal entries across a range of areas and reconciling balance sheet accounts to facilitate a timely month-end close.Prepare the GST reports that feed into the Business Activity Statements for Bluestone.Continuously update skill set, expertise, and technical knowledge by attending the required workshops and courses.Actively participate in Finance and non-Finance led projects that make system enhancements to improve processes.Ad hoc analysis on financial and non-financial data as required, processing cash transfers as required.Your experienceProfessional Accounting degree or CPA/CA/ACCA qualified.Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.Prior experience with Trusts, Lending and Financial Services industry is preferred.Experienced with large ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP or TechOne.About youHigh level of attention to detail.Advanced Excel skills.Ability to communicate and present to senior members of Finance.Genuine team player who seeks and provides support to team members to enhance their effectiveness.Naturally curious, driven and wanting to develop their career.Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Demonstrate good problem-solving capabilities.Demonstrate strong planning and organizing skills that help balance between often competing priorities.Demonstrate innovation with a focus to improve processes; enhance efficiencies and add value, ensuring quality consciousness in all aspects of the team.Comfortable tackling new concepts and ideas associated with ongoing change in the business.What makes us a great place to work?Our most important asset is our people.
