Who We AreCell Therapies Pty Ltd (CTPL) is a commercial Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) located within the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. We specialise in the development and delivery of cell and gene therapies and have more than 20 years experience in this area.The growth of CTPL will continue through our commitment to supporting both Australian and international research and development activities, alongside delivery of commercial contracts to provide these highly personalised therapies to patients in Australia and the region.The RoleReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial, ICT and associated risk management activities of CTPL. This includes direct responsibility for strategic planning, financial innovation, value capture accounting, finance and forecasting, as well as serving as Company Secretary. As a member of the CTPL Leadership Team, you will help shape a strategic vision and inspire an organisational culture that delivers CTPL''s Long Term Financial Plan and drives organisational efficiency.The role of CFO is also central to providing strategic leadership for the organisations corporate and financial governance. This leadership role will identify and implement strategies which position CTPL for growth and stability aligned with the future direction of the organisation. Sound knowledge and experience with corporate governance will provide a good foundation for the direct relationship with the CEO, the CTPL Board and the broader organisation. The position will ensure that all internal and external accountabilities relating to the organisations finances are met, timely and of a high standard. The role will also provide broader opportunities within the organisation to contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening CTPLs capabilities and capacity to support in the manufacture and access to innovative therapies for Australians in need and our region.Core responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):Coordinate the framework and processes related to strategic planning and enterprise risk management.Define and execute the strategic direction for Finance and ICT to achieve short-, medium-, and long-term objectives.Ensure the highest standards of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial risk management, treasury management, investment appraisal, and taxation.Develop, implement, and maintain high-quality financial systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency of business process and to provide timely and insightful reporting to enable data-driven decision making.Establish and enforce financial and accounting principles, procedures, and best practices in strict alignment with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.Provide expert financial advisory on business decisions, including debt and equity fundraising opportunities, acquisitions, divestments, and capital investments.Safeguard the companys financial assets through the implementation of robust financial controls, management accounting systems, budgetary oversight, and expenditure control measures.Enforce policies to secure funds and assets, ensuring full compliance with statutory tax obligations, regulatory filings, and effective administration of insurance coverage and claims.Providing Company Secretary support to the CTPL Board and CEO, whilst also overseeing CTPLs enterprise risk management.Lead, mentor, and support the Finance and Information Systems teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the organisations strategic goals.Act as a key member of the Leadership Team, contributing to corporate strategy, financial sustainability, and long-term business growth.Oversee the development of a robust enterprise systems architecture, which seeks to maximise efficiency, accuracy and business enablement.Ensure that ICT risks are contained, managed and mitigated with the support of SME inputs, and that ICT assets and services provide the appropriate level of support to CTPL and its team.Skills & ExperienceFor consideration of the position of CFO, demonstration of the following will be required:Tertiary qualifications with senior leadership experience and CPA/CA accreditation with experience as a CFO or in a senior financial position, preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.Senior level financial management expertise, including taxation, compliance and reporting in a complex organisation with significant income, contract management and reporting requirements.Ability to operate strategically with an ability to problem solve, support and understand challenges at the operational level.Proven stakeholder relationship management ability to build relationships and strategic partnerships with CTPL stakeholders including key government, non-government and statutory agencies. Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy and political nous.Superior problem-solving ability and the ability to negotiate successful outcomes in potentially challenging circumstances.Strong organisational and project management skills to ensure that CTPL prioritises well, and delivers on its priorities.Senior leadership and people management expertise, with strong commitment to actively work as part of a skilled leadership team.Capability and passion in supporting all business needs and expectations.Self-starter, capable of working in a small team environment and able to be hands on.Communicates and collaborates with co-workers to ensure work is completed within appropriate timeframes in a respectful manner.Advanced skills in financial modelling techniques, with the ability to develop complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.Demonstrable experience in preparing quality Board papers, and participating in Board meetings and sub-committees, preferably with Company Secretary experience.This is a great opportunity for a driven and innovative CFO to join an organisation with a defined purpose, a passion for excellence and an aspiration to be a global leading cell and gene therapy CDMO.At CTPL we are passionate about the work we do but equally passionate about our people.
