Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfillment Center (FC), reporting into the Regional WHS Manager. It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce.Key job responsibilitiesIdentify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly inspectionsFacilitate incident investigation processMaintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulationsEnter Safety incident information in internal database in a timely mannerPerform safety observations & auditsCoach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections etc.)May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and locationParticipate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion*This is an hourly role based on rotating shift patterns.Shift options:Front Half - Sunday to Wednesday, day and night shift.Back Half - Wednesday to Saturday, day and night shift.Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree in a Safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety.Experience in logisticsExperience using Microsoft OfficeAcknowledgement of CountryIn the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
