As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team in Pakenham, VIC.Position OverviewAs a Quality Control Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards. You will perform inspections, tests, and real-time monitoring of production processes to ensure compliance with design specifications. This is a critical position within our Defence and Maritime Division, helping to maintain the high level of quality expected by Shadbolt and our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor & Inspect: Oversee production to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.Material Control: Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Cross-reference with drawing specifications and manage material documentation.Fabrication Control: Assist in welding procedures, identify defects, and report findings. Ensure parts are properly marked for dispatch.Documentation: Develop Manufacturer Data Reports (MDRs), maintain detailed inspection records, and create Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).Continuous Improvement: Recommend corrective actions, resolve quality issues, and participate in efforts to enhance product quality and reduce defects.Testing & MeasurementConduct tests using precision instruments like calipers, micrometres, and gauges.Use 3D scanning technology (as required) to ensure products meet required standards.Record and maintain accurate documentation of testing results.QualificationsEducation & Experience:Mechanical trade, technician, or engineering background, with heavy fabrication experience in workshop or site environments.Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of manufacturing techniques (welding, machining, cutting) for pipework, ducting, plate, and structural elements.Ability to use quality control tools and measuring equipment effectively.Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.Familiarity with Lloyds Rules and Regulations is a plus.Experience in Defence, major construction, or shipbuilding projects is highly desirable.The Ideal Candidate Will PossessStrong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.Problem-solving ability and the capacity to work under pressure.A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and an ability to take direction.The ability to work effectively within a team.Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain AGSVA clearance (Australian Government Security Vetting Agency).Successful completion of a pre-employment medical.Passing of police clearance.How To ApplyIf you have the experience and the passion for ensuring high-quality products and want to be part of a dynamic, growing team, wed love to hear from you!
