Your new role As a Senior or Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will be based in Melbourne (flexibility in remote roles for those outside of the city). You will have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills across various large-scale projects, supporting clients within the power systems and grid connection space for renewable energy generation projects. Working with one of the largest and well-known engineering consultancies in Australia, you will be responsible for the completion and success of many energy projects across the country. Key Responsibilities: Teaching others internally effective skills and techniques to better improve project outcomes and collaboration. As a principal, you will need to manage a team within the company and ensure acceptable productivity. Develop models for networks and individual equipment using various tools, particularly DigSilent PowerFactory, PSSE and PSCAD/EMTDC or similar software. Lead projects through the entire project lifecycle, end-to-end. Perform in-depth power systems studies for energy projects, working closely with developers, investors, NSPs, and AEMO. Business development is a focus when dealing with clients to ensure continued growth. Ensure all projects are completed in a compliant and up-to-standard manner. Identify and pursue opportunities for future growth within the company through potential projects, contributing to business growth. What you will need to succeed: A bachelor''s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering. 3+ years'' experience within the energy industry. Having negotiation skills for the management of various stakeholders and the completion of each project. Having experience of managing various projects is desirable. Have a fast-adapting ability to accommodate new ideas and skills to ensure all projects are completed on time. Proficiency in power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD), preferably with experience in utility power systems planning or operations, or within an engineering consultancy. An understanding of data management, including spreadsheets and report generation. A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
