The position will be based out of our Richmond, British Columbia office; however, a hybrid work style is offered, allowing the candidate to work both virtually and in the office.You will be responsible for customer research that impacts our end-to-end mission lifecycle, from supply chain and scheduled maintenance to maintenance operations. You will partner with executives and product leaders to create effective and satisfying customer experiences for our next generation product suite. You''ll form a community of research practice across our design team and help elevate their quality and output.To succeed in this role, you must be an innovative self-starter, a strategic big-picture thinker, and a dedicated collaborator. UX Researchers serve to help discover, define, and visualize problems to solve, as well as working with partners to guide discovery and deliver solutions. Passion for our mission and vision is required!This role will report to the head of product design and be part of a global team of experience and design professionals.Position Responsibilities:Work with business partners, product, and engineering leads to scope, strategize research needs and priorities to a variety of business outcomes.Present research strategy and deliverables to executive stakeholders, and influence overall product and company research strategy.Lead the research of current state user processes and synthesize the information into BMPN process maps, user journey maps, and/or service blueprints.Design and execute studies that address user behaviors and attitudes, using the right methodology for the right questions.Facilitate the prioritization of customer pain points and opportunities, and manage the information into a research repository.Support customer metrics, user data analytics, and surveys.Support Design Thinking initiatives such as workshops, ideation sessions, etc.Travel globally to internal offices and customer locations to conduct onsite research.Help build the infrastructure and operations needed to facilitate a successful user research program.Break down strategic, ambiguous questions into a clear research roadmap; designing and leading projects, ultimately delivering meaningful impact to product design and business strategy.Partner with other researchers and data scientists to triangulate insights and develop a holistic view of our customers, along with identifying new opportunities for our partners in the organization.Nurture effective partnerships globally to deliver world-class software solutions.Champion user research across Boeing in a way that allows research to be integrated successfully.This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work 3 days a week onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience in a combination of UX Research, Service Design and User Experience Design.Expert understanding of software development practices and an ability to communicate with engineers and other stakeholders on deeply technical matters and nuances of the developer experience.Expert working knowledge of the product design process and how and when user research can add maximum value.Able to lead a team in customer-centered research methodologies and workshops.Advanced degree in human-computer interaction, psychology, cognitive science or related field.Fluent in design thinking methodologies, able to focus a team on goals, and both strategic and tactical solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills-able to clearly present research logic.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Familiar with design tools (Figma, Figjam).Must be legally able to work in Canada.Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):8+ years of experience in a combination of UX Research, Service Design and User Experience Design.2+ years of experience defining and implementing research metrics, repositories, and strategies.Bachelor''s, Masters, or PhD in a human behavior related field (or equivalent/demonstrable work experience).Mixed methods researcher who can successfully design and implement user research programs and processes, but with an outsize emphasis on quantitative user research methodologies and projects.Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to continuously improve it.A demonstrated history of becoming an expert in an unfamiliar domain.A high level initiative to overcome obstacles, unknown problems, and drive towards action.Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to distill the output of complex datasets.Experience with designing, leading, and implementing UX Research projects at scale.Knowledge and practical experience of using a variety of UX research methods (qualitative and quantitative), with a strong awareness of their merits and weaknesses.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Effective communication and presentation skills with a consistent track record of delivering concise, compelling deliverables to influence executive-level business decisions and strategies.Familiar with metrics tools (Adobe Analytics, Qualtrics, or similar tool).Design Thinking and/or Systems Thinking.Working at B2B digital products and/or services provider.Working with global teams.Additional Information:This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.
