Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) is an independent, non-profit organisation with its head office located near North Sydney. We are the worlds largest treatment and research centre with a single focus on melanoma, and our mission is to reach zero deaths from melanoma this decade.MIA is seeking a Clinical Data Manager to assist with collection, collation and cleaning of clinical information from a variety of clinical projects, including collating and classifying electronic medical images. Working between the dermatology clinic, biostatistical team and data management team, the role will include the collation and management of patient data in a clinical setting. This is a 2-year fixed-term contract role and is open to part-time applicants, with a minimum of 0.6 FTE.The day-to-day activities of the role will include data entry and quality assurance activities according to protocols that have been set up at MIA, collection of data from existing files (hardcopy and electronic), including sourcing pathology, electronic images, demographic data, treatment and follow up information, and feeding this into a database. There will also be opportunities to participate in the planning and development activities relating to research information management at MIA.The datasets prioritised in this role will provide critical evidence to inform the development of the Roadmap for a National Targeted Skin Cancer Screening Program. As such, this role will make a key contribution to highly impactful national endeavour, as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes biostatisticians, dermatologists, epidemiologists and other clinical and academic disciplines.The successful applicant will report to the Head, Research and Biostatistics Group at the Melanoma Institute Australia, and will be based at the Melanoma Institute Australia Poche Centre in Wollstonecraft, Sydney.This is a unique opportunity to join a globally recognised research institute. You will also find immense satisfaction in joining a team that is making a very real difference to thousands of Australians, now and in the future.Key Selection CriteriaTo be successful in this role you will have:Experience in clinical data management or dealing with clinical research or clinical trial data.A good understanding of medical terminology including pathology and common medical procedures.Demonstrated understanding of principles of clinical data management and data integrity, and the systems and processes that ensure data integrity.Experience in handling patient information or medical records.Experience with Microsoft Office and clinical databases.Knowledge and working experience of health data.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with managing clinical data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good organisational skills.Team player with a collaborative outlook.Tertiary qualifications in a health or medical science field.Experience with data software (e.g. Access, Excel).Experience working in a research or clinical setting.Previous research project experience.Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be processed.Only applicants with full working rights within Australia should apply.
