Chair- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) CommitteePosition: Chair - Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) CommitteeOrganisation: Macedonian Community Welfare Association (MCWA) LtdCommitment: 5 hours a month (meeting with the GRC Committee and Board monthly)Remunerated PositionAbout MCWA:The Macedonian Community Welfare Association (MCWA) is an Australian non-profit organisation dedicated to providing quality and safe in-home care for the ageing and elderly community - specialising in supporting the ageing multicultural community.Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Chair of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Committee. This critical role ensures that MCWA maintains robust governance practices, effectively manages risk, and complies with all relevant regulatory requirements. The Chair will work closely with the Board of Directors and executive leadership to uphold high standards of accountability and integrity.Key Responsibilities:Lead the GRC Committee in overseeing governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.Provide strategic guidance on regulatory and risk-related matters to the Board and executive team.Ensure effective policies and procedures are in place to manage legal, financial, and operational risks.Monitor emerging risks and compliance obligations, advising on mitigation strategies.Facilitate Committee meetings, set agendas, and provide reports to the Board.Promote a culture of ethical conduct and accountability across the organisation.Key Selection Criteria:Extensive experience in governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, preferably at a senior leadership or board level.Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance frameworks.Demonstrated ability to engage with regulatory bodies, legal professionals, and industry stakeholders.Proven leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and drive decision-making.Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a high level of integrity.Any additional industry-specific qualifications or experiences required, e.g., legal or financial background, experience in aged care, not-for-profit sector, etc. will be highly regarded.How to Apply:To express your interest in this role, please submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria.
