Working closely with your trained service dog, youll assist in offender management, security operations, drug detection, and high-risk escorts. This role is both challenging and rewarding, offering a chance to make a real difference in inmate rehabilitation and community safety.As a Correctional Officer Dog Unit, youll make a positive impact by:Conducting drug and contraband detection through targeted searchesManaging and caring for your assigned Corrective Services dogProviding security support and emergency responsePerforming offender escorts and searchesMaintaining accurate case records and reportsSupporting inmate rehabilitation and reintegration effortsSerco is a place for youTo be successful in this role, youll have:A Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or willingness to obtain it in the first year)A strong interest in dog handling (training provided)The ability to home kennel a working dog within the centres guidelinesPhysical fitness and resilience for a demanding frontline roleA valid Drivers Licence and ability to work rotating shiftsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsA commitment to teamwork, integrity, and professionalismAre you ready to do important work that really matters?At Serco, we bring together the right people, technology, and partners to solve complex challenges.
