More About the Role at Aurecon As part of our Transmission and Distribution practice group, youll collaborate with diverse, forward-thinking teams, taking on fast paced and challenging projects that push the boundaries of what''s possible in electrical design. With Australia''s energy market undergoing a transformation, you''ll play a pivotal role in delivering state-of-the-art transmission line infrastructure (up to 500kV) as part of the AEMO Integrated System Plan (ISP) and Renewable Energy Zones (REZ). Key Responsibilities to Bring Ideas to Life In this role, you will provide technical leadership to the Secondary and Protection team, enhancing their technical capabilities. This involves mentoring and motivating staff to develop their skills while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering small to large-scale projects, from proposal preparation to technical delivery, ensuring excellence in all aspects. You will also be responsible for communicating complex technical concepts clearly, presenting these ideas to a wide range of clients. Working collaboratively across the business, you will bring together diverse skillsets to solve complex problems and deliver successful projects. This includes working with both local and national clients, engaging in innovation and sharing knowledge through national and international projects. You will holdcertifications like Chartered Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer Victoria, will be key to your ongoing development. To succeed in this role, you should have a bachelors degree in electrical engineering, along with at least 15 years of industry experience. A strong background in transmission and distribution engineering, particularly in HV protection and secondary system design, is essential. Knowledge of IEC61850 is highly desirable. You will also need to have solid commercial acumen and the ability to make decisions that mitigate risk. Excellent communication skills, the ability to influence others, and a commitment to building inclusive, collaborative teams are all critical. Finally, you should have the ability to inspire and lead teams with your technical expertise.
