We use the freshest ingredients to give you the taste of best flavours of Indian Cuisine. Our menu offers a wide range of Indian specialties such as Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Lamb, Beef & Vegetarian dishes.Tasks & responsibilitiesMenu planning and costing of menus.Monitor and ensure the high quality of Food throughout preparation and presentation.Prepare and cook meals safely and in a clean environment.Full stock control and accountability for stock-takes, ordering and stock rotation.Take charge of menu changes and specials, using your creativity to produce exciting plates.Minimise wastage and ensure cost control for maximum business profitability.Work closely with restaurant manager and front of house team.Maintain clean and proper use of kitchen equipment and advise on repairs or improvements needed for greater efficiency.Handle complaints according to guidelines and in a way that leaves customers satisfied and impressed.Supervise and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques.Ensure compliance with food and hygiene and implement safe work practices.We are a busy Indian Restaurant in the Hunter region serving Dinner. We have a current chef and are looking to add a new Chef for busy Dinner services and catering services we have started as well.Qualifications & experienceCertificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant trade qualifications.Minimum of 1 year of work experience in Indian Cuisine.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to hygiene, food safety and work health & safety.The right to work in Australia.In return for your commitment and skills, you will receive a competitive salary package of 74K to 76K (Plus Super) and receive ongoing training with the opportunity to develop your skills. Applicants with formal qualifications (AQF Diploma of Hospitality) and 1 year of practical experience working as an Indian CHEF will be prioritized. Position is available full time, 38 hours/week but applicants must be available for 7 days/week and willing to work odd hours (Weekend, public holidays & late shifts).
