The Company owns and manages over 1,500 Ha of blue mallee eucalypt plantations for oil production and maintains State Forest harvesting licenses with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.FGB is proud of its rich heritage, growing natural product range and passion and commitment to being a champion of Australian Eucalyptus Oil.About the role:We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and capable candidate with experience in forestry, plant science or relevant agricultural fields to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing our research into genetics and help drive substantial productivity gains in our Blue Mallee Eucalypt plantations.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping our ongoing research activities and work closely with our Farm team, CEO and consultant partners to enhance our plantation, harvesting and distillery operations.A typical week in the life of this Plantation R&D Manager role will see you:Conduct field and laboratory research to gather data and enhance our understanding of genetic selections, growth rates, oil yields, soil profiles, land management techniques, harvesting and oil distillation practices.Oversee and manage the productivity of existing seed orchards, progeny trials and other Company owned research assets.Undertake research activities aimed at improving plantation productivity and efficiency.Assist in the preparation and establishment of new seed orchard sites.Stay updated with the latest developments in horticulture and related fields to incorporate new techniques and technologies into our operations.Work alongside and collaborate with a motivated and energetic team effectively manage our properties, maximise Eucalyptus Oil production volumes and ensure health and safety compliance at our sites.Being part of the FGB team means:Youll live and be involved in strengthening our values of being committed to health and wellbeing, always looking for ways to impress our customers all while keeping a do right mindset front and centre in all that we do.Youll benefit from a competitive salary package and ongoing training and career developmentAn amazing discount on our fantastic productsHaving an additional day of leave for your birthday.Flexibility - were supportive of helping you to achieve work/life balanceAccess to the free onsite car parkingIdeally, you will:Possess a tertiary qualification in Plant Science, Forestry, Horticulture or a related field of study.Thrive working autonomously and be comfortable working in remote farm environment.Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills to support effective relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.Enjoy managing your own schedule, be self-motivated and show a high level of diligence. #J-18808-Ljbffr
