The South Australian National Football League (SANFL) is the state peak body for Australian Rules Football, committed to making it the game loved by all South Australians. Their goal is to grow and develop our great game and provide opportunities for South Australians to get involved in the game whether it be as a player, administrator, coach, umpire, volunteer or supporter.The Head of Commercial is responsible for driving the success and growth of commercial revenue streams for SANFL. This includes overseeing corporate partnerships, Ultimate Football Membership operations and supporting the Executive General Manager, Finance and Business Operations with other revenue-generating activities.The role requires effective and decisive leadership to support the Partnerships Team and the Membership Operations Manager, ensuring alignment with SANFL''s strategic plan, financial goals, vision and values. Working collaboratively with senior leaders as part of the Executive Team, and building effective and sustainable relationships with external stakeholders, strengthening SANFLs commercial brand.Commercial Revenue Leadership and GrowthDevelop and maintain a deep working knowledge of the breadth of SANFLs programs and competitions (including community football) to obtain commercial opportunities and evaluate strategic priorities.Identification and valuation of all commercial rights and assets available to SANFL, including Adelaide Oval and AFL game day rights and assets.Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial partnerships revenue strategy.In conjunction with the Brand & Marketing Manager and Partnerships Team, develop the commercial strategy and maximise the commercial return from SANFLs digital assets.Maximise and grow revenue across all SANFL activities.Partnership and Sponsorship RevenueIdentify and pursue new revenue opportunities with a strategic focus on innovative ways to attract new business.Lead the Partnerships Team to ensure the successful onboarding, servicing, and retention of commercial partners and sponsors.Ensure the partnerships team maximise value through innovation, data driven insights and quality service to secure renewal and grow revenue.Ultimate Football MembershipWork closely with Membership Operations Manager to grow membership numbers and maximise yield.Harness Ticketek relationship to drive sales and deliver best in class customer service.Develop new strategies and initiative to increase value to members and maximise renewal rate and reduce churn rate.Work with Membership Operations Manager and AFL clubs to maximise overall return from Western Stand (Members Reserve).Establish and maintain an effective and productive relationship with Adelaide Oval, SMA and AFL Clubs to ensure SANFLs interests are both protected and maximised.SANFL Finals Ticketing and Corporate SalesLead the strategy, working with the Events & Game Day Experience Manager and the Membership Operations Manager, maximising ticket sales, including corporate sales for the SANFL Finals Series at Adelaide Oval.Broadcasting & StreamingLeading the management of, including the SANFL broadcast agreement to maximise the exposure for SANFL and providing the best commercial outcome.Supporting the Brand & Marketing Manager to deliver the best commercial outcome for SANFLs streaming products.SANFL Club RelationshipsSANFL Club relationships (including AFL Reserves Teams) are productive and serve interests of the overall SANFL ecosystem.Actively seek commercial opportunities that serve the best interests of SANFL and its clubs.Provide support to Clubs to maximise their opportunities.Support the Partnerships team to ensure SANFL contractual obligations are delivered across SANFL State League venues, and that existing and potential conflicts are managed.Stakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partners, sponsors, and members, and community clubs.Actively drive SANFLs commercial brand and business value proposition through effective networking and collaboration with Brand and Marketing.Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of commercial activities, ensuring alignment with SANFL''s financial goals.Develop and implement tools to assess ROI on proposals and monitor performance.Ensure SANFL has clear understanding full costs associated with agreement execution including workforce costs and resources.Monitor and report on commercial performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.Report on pipeline to clearly demonstrate the various stages including relationship status of new business targets and proposals in market.LeadershipDemonstrate SANFL leadership values to support promotion and compliance with all policies and procedures.Proactively promote compliance with WHS policies and procedures through implementation of effective staff engagement processes.Demonstrate effective people management including timely and comprehensive Performance Development Planning, in business, marketing, or a related field.DHS Working with Children Check.Experience: Proven experience in a senior commercial role, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry.Skills and Knowledge: Well developed and effective leadership and management skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and a strategic mindset.
