The Opportunity We''re seeking a driven qualified Accountant to join our team. You''ll be the financial backbone, ensuring accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and smooth compliance. This role requires meticulous handling of financial statements, process improvements, driving operational performance, and ensuring robust financial controls. Key Responsibilities Financial and Management Reporting & Analysis Responsible for day-to-day accounting - ensure management accounting reporting is timely, accurate and provide analysis of operating performance, providing commercial insights to drive operational performance and profitability improvements. Preparation of monthly group and business unit level management and board reporting including consolidated income statements, balance sheets and statement of cash flows and trend analysis. Review and analysis of the business unit group level performance against budgets, forecasts and key drivers of financial performance and trend analysis. Full ownership of preparation of all financial statements and associated workpapers schedules to meet audit and bank requirements. Audit & Tax Compliance Assist Financial Controller to coordinate end to end management of the audit process. Manage all key aspects of the external audit and queries. Manage all aspects of tax compliance (monthly, quarterly and annual), including income tax, payroll tax, FBT, GST etc. Controls and Governance Ensure robust financial controls and processes are in place to manage and report accurately all revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities. Oversee the ongoing maintenance of accounting and reporting systems related specifically to the processing of finance and business transactions including the following systems: MYOB, Payroll (Employment Hero). Preparation of general journal entries to reflect correct accounting treatment in accordance with company policies, GAAP and IFRS. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Preparation of acquisition accounting and completion accounts together with supporting technical accounting papers. Systems Development and Process Improvement Involvement in key finance projects and being the SME/Champion for the system maintenance and administrative matters. Ongoing development, administration and support of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools as a primary source of management reporting information to business stakeholders. Development and continual improvement of business processes to ensure efficient and effective reporting solutions are achieved and maintaining Data integrity ("one source of truth"). Support to the integration of newly acquired businesses to ensure relevant finance processes and policies are correctly implemented. Your Experience Degree qualified in accounting; CA/CPA qualification preferred. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience gained in Big 4 ideally from business services/private clients or audit division background. Highly organised and excellent attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple deadlines and strong time management skills. Demonstrated experience in preparation of IFRS/AASB compliance financial statements and working on technical accounting issues. Naturally curious and a self-starter with demonstrated ability to undertake a project at their own initiative and achieve quality outputs.
