Product DesignerWere looking for a Junior Product Designer to help us in our mission to nurture the ambition of thousands of Australian and New Zealand small-medium businesses. Our Research & Design (R&D) team does this by designing intuitive accounting products which are informed by customer research and data; with the aim of taking the stress out of bookkeeping for our customers. We obsess about the customer, value co-designing, collaborate across the business, and nurture our design system.As Reckons Junior Product Designer, youll be working closely with our Design Manager designing for our customers. Youll work across cross-functional squads, across web and mobile SaaS products; championing for the user. Youll be working end to end as a product designer, from discovery through to supporting the developers as they implement the designs. This is an entry level role for someone with UX/UI training, whereby well support you with mentorship and guidance as you start out your career as a product designer in a supportive team!This role is based out of our North Sydney office and offers a hybrid working arrangement.What Youll DoCreate UX & UI artefacts, such as research plans, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and UI; working with product managers, product owners, and the R&D team to clarify the requirements and directionParticipate in workshops with stakeholders to understand our users and business problems and clarify requirementsParticipate in design jams, co-designs and reviews with other designers, feeling comfortable with sharing work-in-progressConduct usability testing on your designs, supported by our UX ResearcherPlay a role in strengthening our design processConsider the product ecosystem as you design, evaluating the customers full experienceUse and identify needs for our design system, collaborating across the team to ensure consistency in our design languageWork closely with developers and QA throughout the development and design QA processSkills and experienceA portfolio of work outlining your process and creative examples (e.g. user flows, wireframes, UI, research insights). Practical work completed in a course is fine, if you dont have professional examplesUnderstanding of human centred designUX/UI trainingA passion for designing the best experience for customersResearch has shown how marginalised groups of people and women may not apply for jobs unless they meet 100% of the skills and experience.
