Vehicle Dealers International has been the sole national distributor for Yutong buses since 2018, specialising in distributing Yutong buses and luxury coaches to a wide range of businesses and industries across Australia. We are at the forefront of the industry''s transition to zero-emission buses, which we are incredibly proud of and passionate about.Despite rapid growth during this period, we remain an Australian-owned and family-operated business.Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for another full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our modern workshop located in Eagle Farm. Our new team member will be part of a small team and will assist in preparing new buses for delivery, general servicing, and maintenance repairs on buses/coaches, whether in or out of warranty, gaining valuable experience in the bus industry. There are also many opportunities to develop your skills as we transition into the electric bus revolution.What you will be doing:Perform general routine servicing, repair, and maintenance on heavy vehicles and electric buses.Conduct pre-delivery mechanical inspections in accordance with OEM requirements.Investigate, diagnose, and repair warranty faults in line with OEM requirements.Identify and report faults not raised by customers, but items that require attention or repair.Perform repairs and maintenance across a range of different makes and models.Use (or have a desire to learn) diagnostic equipment like Cummins Insite.Ensure all work activities are completed in a safe manner.Assist the team with other non-mechanical tasks as required.To be successful in this position you will have:The ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions.Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly.The ability to complete service paperwork, accurately recording repair details, parts used, and labour hours taken.The ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, clients, and suppliers.Trade qualifications with post-trade experience preferably in heavy diesel mechanical trade.An interest in electric or hybrid vehicles.Why work for us:Predominantly service-oriented workshop with minimal call-outs.Rates commensurate with your experience.Work on a modern fleet.Monday to Friday work schedule.Family-friendly flexibility.Awesome team environment, working together to achieve results.If this is something that you may be interested in, apply now!We have a competitive annual salary on offer of $73,150.00.
