The Technical Support Officer plays a role in assisting hirers, producers, and performers by ensuring they receive high-quality technical support for their events.Key responsibilities of this role include the skilled operation of venue systems, which encompass lighting, audio, audiovisual equipment, hybrid meetings, and fly systems. The officer will facilitate the setup and breakdown of events, ensure that backstage areas are fully operational, and maintain technical equipment to the highest standards.The role involves a blend of hands-on technical work and some administrative tasks, all aimed at ensuring the smooth running of events while upholding safety and compliance within the venues. This position is part of the Cultural Venues Unit under the Arts, Events, and Cultural Venues Department of the Planning and Liveability Directorate. The team is dedicated to providing exceptional technical and customer support, ensuring that venues meet the operational needs of performers, hirers, and audiences.Reporting to the Team Leader of Technical Services, this role requires collaboration with other technical, operational, and administrative staff. While the position does not have direct reports, there may be opportunities to supervise resources or provide on-the-job training to colleagues.This is a casual position, with hours scheduled according to operational needs. After-hours and weekend work will be necessary due to the nature of events and performances. Flexibility in working hours may be available.
