As a key member of our Systems & Development Team within RQI Investments, you''ll work with Quantitative Researchers and Portfolio Managers in a dynamic environment. Our team of 17 professionals manages A$25bn across value and diversified alpha investment products, trading equities globally with in-house systematic alpha models.Your work will involve quantitative software development and database/systems management & support. You''ll gain technical experience across various technologies and in-depth knowledge of quantitative finance. We focus on building scalable systems to turn data into insights. You''ll be mentored by experienced team members to grow as a quantitative developer and learn about our data-driven investment process.This 18-month structured program may lead to a permanent position based on performance and impact. Start full time in 2026 with potential part time hours in 2025.About youRequired Capabilities & SkillsDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or similar technical field with outstanding academic resultsBroad knowledge of software engineering principles, algorithms and data structures. Experience coding in one or more of Python, R, and SQL, and exposure to relational databases and version control tools (Git) highly regarded.Experience with cloud technologies like Azure and Snowflake, as well as containerization, is highly valued.Previous work experience/internship in software development and/or in the finance industry would be an advantage.An understanding of equity markets and securities highly regarded.A collaborative attitude and willingness to become part of the team is essential.We are looking for graduates who are proactive and self-motivated, solutions focused, confident and willing to work collaboratively across teams.
