Graphic Artist & Prepress - Print & PackagingAbout The RoleThe Paper Cup Company is seeking a highly skilled Graphic Artist with print and packaging experience to lead the artwork production process for a range of custom-printed paper cups and food packaging products.As the sole artist, you will manage artwork from preparation and customer approval through to final production, ensuring your work is accurate, meets customer expectations and aligns with the requirements Flexographic, Offset and Digital printing, with a heavy focus on Flexo.A key part of this role is adapting artwork to fan-shaped paper cups using Adobe Illustrators "Envelope Distort" tool. While prior experience with this tool is not necessary, you must be willing to learn and apply it quickly.Your technical knowledge and attention to detail will contribute to the accuracy of print files, eliminate production issues and maintain a high-level quality of our finished products.While there is some design work involved, mainly layouts. Experience or interest in designing for our stock product range will also be viewed favourably.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and prepare artwork, proofs, mockups and samples for customer approval, using supplied artwork, assets, or original layout designs as needed.Align customer objectives with production constraints by assessing artwork, identifying potential issues, offering solutions, managing revisions and maintaining clear, consistent communication throughout the process to achieve successful outcomes.Set up files for print production, including the preparation of master dieline templates, step & repeat, ganging, bleeds, trapping, overprinting and colour separation.Work closely with internal production teams and manage external print suppliers to ensure artwork meets print requirements, enabling error-free output and timely delivery.Thoroughly check and approve printer proofs prior to production and attend press checks where required.Assist the in-house team with printing thermal labels, preparing carton packaging files, updating price lists, specification sheets and other graphic-related tasks as needed.Skills & AttributesProficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Word and Excel.A passion for packaging and producing high standard artwork.Strong prepress skills for Flexographic, Offset and Digital print.Ability to work independently, staying organised and following structured workflow procedures.Strong technical and problem-solving skills as well as troubleshooting for software and printer.Advantageous Skills (will be regarded)Experience with;Adobe Illustrator Envelope Distort tool (specific to preparing paper cup artwork)Adobe Illustrator 3D Rotate tool (specific to preparing mockup renders)GS1 barcodes requirements and QR codesESKO PluginsAutoCAD or the ability to export DXF/DWG dieline files from Illustrator.We welcome PDF examples (10MB max) that demonstrate your ability to prepare print-ready files or any artwork youve produced that showcases your skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
