Youll be responsible for the movement of patients through the hospital and for ensuring safe and efficient patient care.Collaborating with your peers day-to-day, you will ensure the provision of a coordinated nursing service across the hospital, delivering synergies across the wards that will allow for a highly functional service that supports excellent bed management and patient flow.You will:Lead a team of professional clinical staff in the coordination of patient flow, ensuring efficient allocation of patients to beds in line with our bed management and access strategy.Work to achieve optimal patient outcomes and exceptional patient satisfaction.Facilitate and manage effective communication across the hospital and with key stakeholders, including consultation with pre-admission office, Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Liaison Nurse and VMOs.Recruit to ensure adequate staffing, maintaining a flexible workforce to support patient occupancy, ensuring budget and performance indicators are managed effectively.Lead the team to contribute to the hospitals strategic plan, develop action plans and formulate policy and procedure as required.Contribute to the hospitals Quality Improvement Program by recommending and overseeing improvement projects and assisting with audit activities as required.Promote the importance of maintaining the dignity of the patient and patient confidentiality.Respond to emergencies, as required.What makes a difference for us?As an experienced nursing clinician, you will showcase a working knowledge of contemporary nursing practices, being actively across current and emerging healthcare service delivery trends. With strong communication skills, youll be confident facilitating communication within a large organisation, effectively collaborating with stakeholders to manage and negotiate outcomes.Demonstrating extensive experience in a leadership role or senior role within a patient flow specialty, youll be competent in leading a large nursing team, balancing operational priorities with a supportive and empathetic leadership style. Youll demonstrate:Bachelor of Nursing / current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to manage and support an after-hours team.Financial acumen and the demonstrated ability to manage resources within budget.Knowledge of legislation, Acts and Regulations relevant to healthcare service delivery.Proficiency with the MS Suite of products and the use of internal systems, e.g., Cerner, Kronos and Trendcare.What makes a difference for you?As Australias first fully digital hospital, St Stephens gives the Wide Bay community access to one of the countrys most advanced healthcare facilities.
