The role holder will lead a diverse team of tracks team members to ensure the best possible racing surface is presented for each race meeting and daily horse training.The successful candidate will also manage the training facilities at Rosehill Gardens, contributing to Australian Turf Clubs success as one of the premier Racing Clubs in the Southern Hemisphere.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and guidance to ensure that the work and objectives of the Tracks team align with the ATC strategic and management plans.Manage ongoing maintenance of the on-course stabling complex including ordering & recording stock.Develop skills training programs to maximize potential and increase productivity and competencies throughout the Tracks team.Support the continuous improvement culture through appropriate resourcing and succession planning.Manage the preparation of the grounds and gardens at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse to present an attractive venue to patrons and contribute to their enjoyment of the facilities.Communicate with trainers based at Rosehill Gardens and foster a professional working relationship to maximize customer satisfaction and increase the number of horses being trained at ATC venues.Manage capital works programs and contractor work carried out on the tracks and grounds to ensure they are completed with minimum impact on racing and training needs.Assist with budget preparation and provide a range of reports relating to Rosehill Gardens track, grounds and gardens.Implement WHS initiatives including management of the risk assessment program to identify, eliminate or control risks.THE RIGHT FITTo be successful in the role, the right person will possess:Previous experience in a similar roleTurf management and the development and maintenance of equine racing and training surfacesProven experience managing and motivating a team of groundspersons, greenkeepers, and gardenersWHS provisions relating to risk assessment, manual handling, and the handling of pesticides and other chemicals used in the day-to-day management of the grounds and trackStrong negotiation and influencing skills and the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationshipsStrong time management and organizational skillsSound budgetary and financial management skillsTertiary qualifications in turf management, greenkeeping, science, or horticulture or a related discipline.If you believe you are the right fit and demonstrate our values, come and join us.To apply, visit: close on 8 May, however, we will be continuously interviewing before this date until we find the right person.We look forward to reviewing your application.Type: PermanentCategory: OtherReference ID: JC000004Date Posted: 10/04/2025Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionOtherIndustriesEvents Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
