Job Title: Machine Operator Location: Mayfield, KY Shift: Weekend (Friday-Sunday 6am - 6pm) Weekend shifts (36 hours worked, paid for 40 hours) Pay: $19-25 per hour based on experience with $1 shift differential Fulltime, Benefits, and Weekly PayJob PurposeA machinist is responsible for a variety of machinespecific functionsfrom setting up equipment, loading materials and operating machinery, to monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. A machinist will typically have the knowledge and ability to operate and maintain several machines.Our positions are full-time, year-round employment with paid training. We offer:5 Days of PTO6 Paid HolidaysUp to 50% of health insurance premiums paid by ImpactAccess to a retirement plan, financial fitness, and employee savings programsDuties and ResponsibilitiesOperates various machines as part of the production process to produce parts for the locomotive industry in accordance with AAR, customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PR safety policies.Operate manual machines including horizontal mills, engine lathes, and manual grinders to produce locomotive motor parts and axles.Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers to determine and follow customers specifications.Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes.Adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed.Advanced Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair various machines.Qualifications, Experience, EducationWe are seeking candidates with varying levels of qualifications and experience for our open positions. We require a minimum 1-2 years of experience or a relevant technical degree.SkillsPossess expertise and/or certification in Advanced Welding Techniques.Hold Certification in NonDestructive Testing.Possess high level of machining Aptitude.Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.Essential and Physical Activities FunctionsThe position requires physical strength to lift 50lbs and stamina for working in tight spaces while installing or repairing machinery. Employees must stand for most of the day and frequently walk, squat, kneel, and climb. The role involves exposure to high noise levels and vibrations, necessitating the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and the ability to read schematics. The work environment varies between indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to temperature extremes and weather elements, as well as oils and lubricants.
