Kiama Council is committed to promoting diversity and fostering inclusion.We currently have the opportunity for an Office Assistant to join our Waste Services team on a temporary part-time basis.Working at our Waste Services Depot in Minnamurra, you will provide administration support to assist in the efficient and effective operation of Councils Waste Services.The role of Office Assistant Waste Services involves:Carrying out weighbridge operationsProviding general administrative support, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing correspondenceMaintaining accurate records and files and managing office supplies and equipmentAssisting with data entry and the maintenance of databasesResponding to customer enquiries in a timely and professional mannerProviding information to customers regarding waste services and guidelinesResolving customer issues and escalating complex problems to the appropriate personnelMaintaining a positive and helpful attitude when interacting with customers and colleaguesAssisting with the preparation of reports related to waste collection and disposal dataAssisting with the administration of waste diversion and recycling programsPerforming other duties as assigned by the Waste Services Administration Team LeaderAssisting in the streamlining of office procedures.What we offer...Temporary part-time until 3rd February 2026 with the possibility of extensionThe hours will be 36 hours per fortnight to be worked in accordance with the table below:Week 1 Thursday and Friday, 7 hours per dayWeek 2 Thursday and Friday, 7 hours per day and Saturday 8 hoursBase annual salary from $33,524.04 which is calculated on a 36-hour fortnight(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)What you''ll need to be successful in the role...Certificate III in Business AdministrationExperience in an administration role, including proficiency in MS Office and with databases and spreadsheetsClass C LicenceCash handling experience including calculating fees and balancing takingsExperience preparing reports and correspondenceGood communication and customer service skills including conflict resolution skillsThe ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.Pre-Employment ChecksYour employment will be subject to a National Criminal Record Check to determine your suitability for employment.All employees and other workers must uphold and promote safety and wellbeing for children and young people.Closing Date: Sunday 20 April 2025 at 11:30pm.Interested?Click on Apply to complete your online application, or for more information contact Josephine St John, Waste Services Strategic Coordinator on 02 4232 0553. #J-18808-Ljbffr
