Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yrLooking for great work life balance?Perhaps a sea change to the beautiful Great Southern region of Western Australia?Immediate start | Albany, WA based locationPassionate and dedicated team focused on social justice and advocacyGreat Southern Legal Community Services (GSCLS) is seeking an experienced Family Lawyer, with a focus on community and passion for helping individuals and families fight for their rights and needs.What You GetYou will be based in the Albany office with occasional travel to the broader regions, easy access to the city centre and all the lifestyle benefits of a sea change.Your package will include:Excellent salary and benefitsGreat work life balance 40 hours per weekNon-billing, team approach to case workSupported by a diverse network of lawyers across WAFlexible working options consideredProfessional training and growth opportunitiesPaid leave during the festive season office closure periodEmployee Assistance ProgramWhat Youll Be DoingReporting to the Principal Lawyer, you will be joining a dedicated multidisciplinary team of professionals, providing a range of legal assistance services to people throughout the Great Southern region.Key duties will include:Provide legal assistance to clients, including ongoing casework.Attending client meetings and court appearances, within Albany and at our outreach locations of Katanning and Narrogin.Work with victims of Family & Domestic Violence (FDV) to create safe and impactful outcomes for families and individuals.Lead GSCLS efforts in State and National work around systemic advocacy for legal assistance issues relevant to victims of FDV.Contribute to service planning, triage processes and client intake procedures.Contribute to the preparation and presentation of community legal education programs.Maintain key stakeholder relationships with Government and community services.Participate in relevant community networks.Work collaboratively to build and manage new initiatives to provide increased legal access to communities in outreach regional towns.What Youll HaveTo be successful in this role you will need:Experience in Family Law matters.Experience in Restraining Order matters.Demonstrated understanding of family and domestic violence.Experience working with people experiencing vulnerability.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with vulnerable people, First Nations people and people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds.About GSCLSGSCLS is a not-for-profit organisation, based in the beautiful seaside city of Albany, who have been committed to providing legal and advocacy services to the Great Southern community of Western Australia since 1995.With the primary goal to support community members GSCLS provides a range of services such as advice, support, advocacy, mediation, court representation, and educational sessions on community legal matters.Sound good to you?
