Veolia Australia and New Zealand is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our collaborative and highly engaged in-house team. In this role you will provide cost effective, high quality, strategic and timely legal services to Veolia Australia and New Zealands lines of business, as well as manage legal risk and compliance.What''s on offerJoin a business with a strong purpose and focus on ecological transformationHigh level of autonomy, business engagement and interactionVaried and interesting work within our lines of business (waste, water, energy and resource recovery)What you''ll be responsible forDrafting, reviewing and negotiating a full range of commercial contracts to ensure compliance with the Companys objectives, risk profile and relevant legislationProviding advice regarding the legal and practical implications of developments in the law and regulatory environments in which Veolia operatesManaging disputes and investigationsPreparing and delivering tailored training to ensure stakeholder knowledge on relevant topics to support risk reductionProviding appropriate legal input into organisational initiatives and projectsLiaising with external legal providers as appropriate and analysing and interpreting advice to ensure appropriate recommendations and courses of actionWhat you''ll need to be successfulBachelor of LawsPractising certificate in an Australian jurisdiction6 plus years PQEA solid commercial background gained in a top tier law firm or leading commercial corporate entityExperience in construction and / or projects desirableVeolia values employees and their health and wellbeing.
