Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage. Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.This is a fulltime position with possible work from home options as per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with function or project leadership.Major Responsibilities:Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directedSupports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reportsAssists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplinesPrepares cost data for proposals or contractsCoordinates the development and accuracy of cost reportsVerifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistencyPrepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and proceduresCollects and classifies cost dataPrepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisonsEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor''s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experienceBachelors Degree in Construction Management, Mining, Engineering or the like, or demonstrated, relevant experience in lieu of degreeRequired Knowledge and Skills:Solid project controls experience in cost control including reportingAdvanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordExtensive cost engineering experience, with previous experience on projectsMust possess good interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skillsDemonstrated skill in identifying, analysing and solving problemsA working knowledge of Bechtel or equivalent Project Control systems, work processes and EPC functionsExperience in other areas of project controls (planning, scheduling, estimating, etc) is desirable.Experience with software such as Ecosys, Power BI tools, and advanced Excel is required for project reporting purposes.
