We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.Purpose of the RoleBGIS is seeking an experienced Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to play a critical role in ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and business systems. Reporting directly to the HSEQ Manager, you will work collaboratively with both client and BGIS teams to oversee and continuously enhance the effectiveness of Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management systems, driving a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.The ideal candidate will be committed to long-term success, skilled in writing and developing policy, and passionate about fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure Legal and Regulatory Compliance Administer contracts to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and BGIS business systems, focusing on Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality Management Systems.Upholds compliance with ISO45001:2018, and AS/NZS ISO 14001 standards, standards, ensuring effective management of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental systems.Manage WHSE Documentation Oversee the maintenance of WHSE records, procedures, and resources on the BGIS intranet and client online platforms, ensuring up-to-date and accessible documentation.Contractor Safety Management Monitor and manage contractor safety, including hazard, near-miss, and incident reporting, and ensure adherence to Riskware compliance systems.Conduct Audits and Inspections Lead internal and external WHSE audits and inspections, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and improve safety performance.Provide Training and Support Deliver WHSE training and technical support to BGIS teams and contractors, fostering a proactive culture of safety and compliance.Support Business Growth and Transitions Assist with contract transitions, contribute to tenders, proposals, and business growth opportunities, and maintain strong client relationships.Reporting and Performance Monitoring Track and report on WHSE performance, contributing to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for both BGIS and clients, and actively participating in client meetings and WHSE forums.Education, Experience & Skills5+ years of experience in an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Advisor or Coordinator role.Proven track record of conducting OH&S audits and ensuring compliance across various safety systems.Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems) and AS/NZS ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).Demonstrated experience in conducting detailed incident investigations, vendor compliance assessments, contract and policy writing, and comprehensive report writing.Proven expertise in reviewing and issuing work permits, including for high-risk activities such as work at heights, roof access, hot works, and confined spaces.Ability to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible, innovative approach to problem-solving in dynamic work environments.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills to foster collaboration across teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and digital platforms.Certificate IV in OH&S Management.ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method) Trained and 1-Year experience conducting investigations.Current Working at Heights (HTS), Confined Spaces (CS), and Hot Works Permits or be willing to obtain.Experience in Property, Business, Facilities, or Project Management is a plus.To support your growth, this position will initially be based on-site in our Sydney CBD office.
