APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Subiaco and Melbourne.Join us and unearth your potential in a global company that is at the forefront of shaping the future of the mining industry.We are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the APAC Exploration team who will report directly into the Exploration Health and Safety Lead APAC. These pivotal roles will champion the implementation of Newmonts Health and Safety Strategic Initiatives and programs across our Cadia and Lihir Exploration portfolio. You will collaborate closely with our Exploration and Geoscience teams and will involve regional travel and regular onsite engagements across our sites in Australia and PNG.A day in the life of Health & Safety Advisor APAC may include:Lead the implementation of Newmonts Exploration Health & Safety initiatives, including the Fatality Risk Management and Live Work Elimination Programs.Be a visible and vocal safety leader across our exploration sites.Play an active role in incident investigations, event classification guidance, and assurance activities.Facilitate and participate in risk assessment workshops.Deliver safety data reporting and analysis to identify and address areas for improvement.Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, business partners and the Exploration & Geoscience team to ensure alignment and standardisation across the Exploration portfolio.About you:Previous experience working onsite in Health and Safety roles within the mining, drilling, exploration or equivalent high-risk industries.Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, Science or Human Factors is desirable.Experience and expertise in implementing Health and Safety initiatives and programs.Proven experience leading risk management activities.Experience in contractor management and conducting audits, inspections and assurance activities.Experience in leading and conducting incident investigations.A strong understanding of mining and WHS legislation and its application.Demonstrated ability to coach and advise team members to build a positive safety culture of care and inclusion.You will pose strong influencing, consultation and communication skills for partnering cross functionally with Leaders and Stakeholders. Your past experience in data analysis will assist in driving insightful data-informed decisions. This role does require frequent travel across all of Newmont sites and corporate offices within the APAC region and the role can be based at our Brisbane hub.Applications will close 27th April, however applications may be shortlisted immediately.We understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
