*********** This Position is located in Jackson, MS***********Job Summary:The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling of deliveries and pickups for a brick manufacturing company. This role ensures that shipments are delivered on time while optimizing efficiency and maintaining compliance with safety and transportation regulations. The Dispatcher serves as a key point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal departments.Work Schedule:This position follows a standard full-time schedule, 7AM to 4PM, overtime may be required.Key Responsibilities:Essential Duties:Schedule and dispatch trucks to deliver bricks to customers and job sites efficiently.Communicate with drivers to provide routes, instructions, and updates on deliveries.Monitor truck locations and status using GPS tracking systems.Adjust routes and schedules as needed to accommodate delays, weather conditions, or customer requests.Maintain accurate records of deliveries, truck mileage, fuel usage, and driver hours.Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.Coordinate with the production and warehouse teams to confirm product availability and loading schedules.Address and resolve any issues related to transportation, including mechanical breakdowns, delays, and customer complaints.Foster strong relationships with drivers and customers to enhance communication and service quality.Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly transportation reports as required.Qualifications & Skills:Prior experience in dispatching, preferably in the trucking or construction materials industry.Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation laws.Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, if necessary.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit for extended periods while working with computer and dispatch systems.Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 25 lbs.Ability to visit loading docks, production areas, or customer locations as needed.Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise and trucking operations.Training:Adhere to all safety policies and job-safe work practices.Obtain training on dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.Learn and implement DOT compliance and safety procedures.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement plan options.Paid time off and holidays.Opportunities for career growth within the company.Compensation:This position follows a progressive pay scale, with increases based on performance, knowledge, and experience.Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement:Cherokee Brick is an equal opportunity employer.
