This is a continuing, permanent, part-time position (0.53 FTE) with shifts from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM each dayideal hours for those needing to manage school pick-up and drop-off.In this role, you will, but are not limited to:Assisting the Chef with meal and snack preparation.Washing dishes, adhering to the cleaning roster, and ensuring all surfaces, utensils, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned.Setting up and cleaning the dining areas.Maintaining hygiene and safety standards related to food preparation, storage, and the use of equipment.Selection CriteriaAbility to follow directions and work independently within established routines.Timely completion of tasks to achieve outcomes.Demonstrated use of safe food handling practices.Proven ability to work safely within a kitchen environment.Capability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and record all cleaning activities in weekly record sheets.Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels.DesirablePrevious experience in a kitchen hand role will be highly regarded but not essential.Role Requirements:As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtins satisfaction.This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.In-service training on Safe Food Handling.Your new TeamThe Curtin University Early Childhood Centre rated as exceeding by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit (ECRU) provides an aesthetically pleasing and nurturing learning environment for children 0 - 5 years.
