DevOps Engineer - Container PlatformsSNSW Grade 7 / 8Location Haymarket, Gosford or Parramatta1 x Temporary Full-Time until September 2027Drive Excellence in Software DeliveryService NSW is seeking experienced DevOps Engineers to orchestrate our software delivery pipeline and drive continuous improvement in our release processes that impact millions of customers daily.About the RoleThe Container Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a robust containerised platform that supports over 40 product teams, 250 business product team engineers, and 4,000 running container workloads. This role involves facilitating and supporting the migration of existing products and applications to Red Hat OpenShift on Amazon Web Services (AWS).The engineer works closely with business product team engineers to ensure smooth transitions, optimize containerised environments, and maintain platform performance and reliability. By managing and supporting container workloads, the Container Platform Engineer helps ensure the seamless deployment, scaling, and operation of business-critical applications across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:Assist to design, implement, and manage containerised Kubernetes environments.Assist to maintain and optimize container platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.Implement automation for deployment, scaling, and management of containerized workloads.Integrate container platforms into existing DevOps practices.Work with security teams to ensure platforms comply with organisational security policies and implement security best practices for containerised environments.Monitor the health and performance of platform and orchestrated services.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to containers, networking, storage, and performance.Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs, optimize workflows, and provide support and troubleshooting assistance to both development and operations teams.What You''ll Need:Understanding of containers orchestration/management platforms (preferably AWS ROSA or OpenShift).Kubernetes experience.DevSecOps experience, including Git (GitLab preferred).CI/CD pipelines experience (including some Terraform is preferred).AWS Cloud experience (and data services preferred: RDS, Redis, RabbitMQ, SQS, DynamoDB, S3).Some Containerised application experience (Java/Kotlin, Node etc.)About Our TeamJoin our dynamic Technology Services & Platforms team, where we''re revolutionizing digital service delivery for millions of customers.
