This position is integral to improving business cases, enhancing the scoping and development of project funding requests (Investment Review Papers (IRP)), and monitoring project and portfolio performance to drive continuous improvement.This role requires a proactive and analytical professional who thrives in complex environments, embraces ambiguity, and has a strong commercial mindset. The ability to challenge, refine and strengthen capital project proposals, collaborate with key stakeholders and provide insights that drive real performance is essential.Key responsibilities for the position include, but will not be limited to:Budget Planning and Prioritisation: Enhance the quality of Capital Initiation Forms (CIFs) and contribute to prioritisation activities.Project Performance and Assurance: Improve the quality of project business cases and IRP submissions.Portfolio Monitoring and Continuous Improvement: Monitor project and portfolio performance, identify anomalies and drive corrective actions.Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Commercial teams to support project planning and execution.Governance and Assurance: Conduct health reviews, identify trends, and provide feedback to improve project delivery and decision-making.Capability Development: Uplift project management capability across site through training, coaching and development of best practices.Safety Focus: Demonstrate commitment and leadership to safety and ensuring a safe working environment.To be considered for the position the ideal applicant will have:Bachelors Degree in Engineering (or similar technical discipline) and/or business-related field.Project Management qualifications (e.g., PMP, CPPM) highly regarded.Demonstrated site-based multidisciplinary project delivery experience within a mining, construction and/or heavy industry environment.Experience with portfolio management including PMO methodologies and best practices.Analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in the context of project management challenges.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess how key technical and project delivery factors impact financial performance and overall business outcomes.Ability to assess and challenge capital project proposals for value creation and risk mitigation.Familiarity with project management software and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, MSP, Power BI).Confident and collaborative stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to influence decision-making across multiple levels.This residential position is based at Newmonts Cadia Valley Operations and will be offered on a drive-in, drive-out basis on a 5/3, 4/3 roster (10-hour workdays) and will suit applicants currently residing in Orange, NSW, or surrounding regions.Full and unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia will be essential.At Newmont, people create the value in the metals we mine responsibly and are ambassadors in the communities where they live and work.
