We build strong relationships and work cooperatively with our people, customers and our community to continuously improve our performance and contribute to a smart, sustainable and vibrant Newcastle.We seek individuals who bring diverse perspectives, a continuous improvement mindset, and align with our core values: caring, excellence, integrity, and progress.About the role:Reporting to the Finance Manager, in this key role you will be responsible for driving core financial and compliance activities to meet Port Waratahs statutory financial reporting, taxation and business reporting requirements.Key Responsibilities include:Lead an effective and efficient month-end reporting process including completion of balance sheet reconciliations.Preparation of FBT, income tax and BAS returns.Manage Port Waratah Groups dividend notices, calculations and payments.Oversee the administration of the Fixed Asset Register.Coordinate the annual external audit process.Maintain robust governance in financial and reporting processes.Support in the preparation of Port Waratahs Annual Report.Contributing to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within financial systems and processes.Desired Skills and Experience:What we are looking for:Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting including CA / CPA certification.Understanding of accounting, taxation and Corporations Act reporting requirements.
