About the roleGunther Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter to join our team in Morisset, NSW. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment used in our construction operations.What you''ll be doingDiagnose and repair various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, haul trucks, and other yellow equipmentPerform regular servicing and preventative maintenance on the fleetTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and uptimeCollaborate with the wider maintenance team to implement best practices and continually improve processesMaintain detailed records and documentation of all repair and maintenance activitiesEnsure a safe work environment and adherence to all relevant health and safety regulationsWhat we''re looking forFormal qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent trade certificationProven track record of at least 5 years'' experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter, ideally in a Civil construction or heavy industry environmentStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve complex mechanical issuesExcellent mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to carry out maintenance and repairs efficientlyAbility to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesCommitment to upholding safety standards and a proactive approach to workplace health and safetyExperience working with small engines to complete servicing and repairs such as pumps, plate compactors and landscaping equipmentAbility to complete some light vehicle maintenance and diagnosticsAble to use SIS and other manufacturers software to research parts and required preventative maintenancePractical problem-solving skillsAble to maintain inventory of required workshop consumables, PM parts and spares in an organised fashion and attained in a cost-effective mannerWhat we offerGunther Civil is a leading provider of civil construction and mining services, offering our employees a supportive and rewarding work environment.
