All jobs can be worked flexibly, and we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.THE ROLEThe Housing Services Officer role is a client-facing position which supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing''s housing program and plays a vital role in supporting client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing.Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.Housing Services Officers at Classification 2 are fully competent across the assigned housing functions and apply well-developed skills in all areas. They may be required to be a local reference point in processes and procedures for less experienced staff and will work in an environment under general supervision.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDEAssess client''s needs and provide advice on housing options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards.Prepare routine cases with well-established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies.HOW TO APPLYApplicants are encouraged to apply online.
