You will be joining a passionate and motivated group of professionals providing independent and robust legal advice and legal services.The DCS Legal team supports a range of diverse entities including Service NSW, Revenue NSW, Digital.NSW, Fair Trading, the Telco Authority, SafeWork, the Building Commission NSW, Births, Deaths and Marriages, and the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA).As a Senior Lawyer in DCS Commercial & Digital Legal, you will be responsible for providing quality, strategic and pragmatic advice on a broad range of commercial contracts, privacy, cyber security, artificial intelligence, ICT, information access and digital matters across DCS portfolio businesses. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to whole of government projects and inter-agency initiatives.Reporting to one of our Managing Lawyers or Directors, you will apply your legal subject matter expertise to provide legal services on a range of matters and projects working in an interesting and dynamic environment. A talent pool may be created for future opportunities.Remuneration of $125,693 - $138,510+ super & leave loading, commensurate with experience.Based in Sydney CBD with flexible/hybrid working options available.The professional in this role will need to:Provide strategic, pragmatic, focused and accountable specialist legal advice and strategy across a range of areas covering ICT, corporate, commercial and regulatory.Interpret and distil complex legal issues for the business in the preparation of documents including advice, submissions, briefing notes, deeds, agreements and other contractual documentation.Advise, draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements including for software acquisition/licensing, product development and intellectual property in information technology and cloud service delivery.Review policies and other proposals, to ensure that statutory, ethical, probity and other legal obligations are properly addressed.The Key Requirements for the role include:Admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales with relevant experience.
