Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.Be part of the team thats up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?As a Traffic Project Engineer on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project, you will be essential in managing and coordinating the traffic aspects of our construction efforts across our eight B2A T2 sites (Benalla, Euroa, Seymour, Tallarook, Hamilton, Short, Marchbanks, and Wandong). Your expertise in traffic engineering and management will ensure that all traffic-related activities are planned and executed safely and effectively, with minimal disruption to the public and adherence to safety and quality standards. In close collaboration with project managers, the engineering team, and relevant stakeholders, you will oversee the traffic management plans and ensure their successful implementation throughout the lifecycle of the project. Your role will contribute significantly to the project''s overall success, with the added complexity of managing traffic within the existing, operational rail corridors managed by ARTC and V/Line. This primarily Docklands-based role will also require you to travel to various construction sites to oversee traffic management and to ensure that project objectives are met.Project DescriptionInland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;Develop and implement comprehensive traffic management plans for each site within the B2A T2 project, in line with regulatory requirements and project timelines.Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and external agencies to ensure seamless traffic operations around construction areas.Monitor and manage traffic flows, implementing measures to minimize impact on the surrounding community and ensuring the safety of both the public and workforce.Conduct risk assessments and devise contingency plans for traffic-related incidents and events.Coordinate with public relations and community liaison teams to communicate traffic changes and disruptions effectively to the public.Ensure that all traffic signage, barriers, and control measures are in place and maintained in accordance with the project''s safety protocols.Analyse traffic data to improve existing traffic management strategies and optimise traffic flow around the construction sites.To be successful in this key role, we are looking for;A degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on traffic management within construction or infrastructure projects.Knowledge of traffic management software and tools.Experience in developing and executing traffic management plans for large-scale construction projects.A strong understanding of local traffic regulations, standards, and best practices.Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple tasks and teams.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with a range of stakeholders.A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing project demands.A commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in traffic management practices.The capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced project environment.As part of the team, you can help us transform lives.Your success is reflected in ours, so were committed to being an employer of choice.
