Manager, Construct Intervention Planning & Engagement - SafeWork NSW, ConstructionRole: ManagerGrade: State Team CoordinatorSalary: $154,925 - $156,387 + superannuationDuration: OngoingLocation: Parramatta or GosfordClosing Date: Tuesday 22nd April 2025 (9:59AM)About the teamThe SafeWork NSW Construction directorate has a strategic approach to supporting a safe, healthy and productive construction industry in NSW. The Construction team provides a strong and consistent focus on building industry capability through strategic stakeholder engagement, evidence and risk-based harm prevention initiatives, and proportionate and targeted regulator response to construction incidents and requests for service.Ideal candidateAbility to manage and coordinate resources across the directorate to deliver regulatory responses, services and programsAbility to lead and manage a team and support a high performing organisational cultureAbility to identify and respond to emerging issues and risksAbility to foster and maintain professional working relationships with key internal and external stakeholdersAbility to deal with complex matters in a highly sensitive environmentStrong communication skillsManaging financial budgets associated with the efficient running of the teamKey attributesAbility to promote and influence the implementation of organisational direction and programs to external stakeholders, given their diverse levels of understanding and competing prioritiesDemonstrated strong Stakeholder Engagement and Project Management skills across all levelsDemonstrated ability to deal with complex matters and at times contentious issues, including cross government, Ministerial responses, PCBU and Union negotiationsAbility to provide strong leadership and direction to an evolving business unit culture within a dynamic and changing operating environment, while ensuring consistency with organisational and public sector valuesAbility to lead a business unit through innovative use of digital technologies to secure desired strategic outcomesAbility to effectively manage the functions and responsibilities of Inspectors as set out in the Work Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislationAbility to represent SafeWork NSW through relevant media channels using approved process when requiredHigh level oral and written communication skillsIn joining SafeWork NSW, you will be rewarded with a great opportunity to apply your experience with your passion for workplace health and safety. You will:Work a 38-hour working week, including some weekends and participate in the After-Hours Emergency Response ServiceReceive an attractive salary package along with the required tools of the trade, including a vehicle with access to private useBe able to access flexible working conditions within operational requirementsEssential requirementsAbility to travel, work remotely and out of usual business hoursHold a NSW C class drivers'' licence with a satisfactory safe driving record and a requirement to maintain the safe driving record throughout employmentSatisfactory criminal record checkSatisfactory medical assessment capacity regarding physical and psychological impacts of the inherent duties of the roleUndertake the 12-month New Inspector Training Program (NITP).
