Job Description

The Facilities & Wellbeing Manager is responsible for ensuring that company facilities are safe, efficient, and conducive to the well-being of all employees. This role involves managing all aspects of facilities maintenance and operations while leading initiatives that promote health, safety, and wellness in the workplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, workplace health and safety (WHS), and employee wellness programs.This role is primarily office-based with occasional site visits and travel as needed and may require after-hours work in response to emergencies or urgent maintenance issues.Key ResponsibilitiesThe planning and implementation of cost-effective and quality facility services at all offices including maintenance, cleaning, security, waste removal, car parking, utilities management, and signage.Management of facilities master planning, capital works projects, new buildings, facility leases, and refurbishment projects including office services budget planning.Developing policies and procedures in order to improve the performance of the Facilities Department.Staff management of the Facilities Department including the conduct of performance management reviews and professional development to ensure optimum performance within a team environment.Proactively lead and implement and maintain WHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Oversee the engagement of contractors in accordance with company policy to undertake facilities-related works.Oversee department administration, including actioning ServiceNow requests and maintaining SLAs.Undertake the active role of fire warden and have a sound knowledge of evacuation procedures and in particular the evacuation of disabled persons.Participate in sustainability initiatives and lead the Sustainability Green Team in Australia.Manage emergency procedures, including WHS committee membership and fire warden duties.Ensure essential service maintenance requirements and all facilities are OH&S compliant.Skills, Competencies & Experience RequiredDemonstrated experience in facilities management, including maintenance, space planning, and vendor management.Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and best practices.Experience developing and managing wellness programs is highly desirable.Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.QualificationsBachelors degree in Facilities Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related field.Professional certification in facilities management or WHS (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, NEBOSH) is preferred.Benefits We OfferWhen you join MetLife Australia, you are joining a company that demonstrates holistic care and wellbeing for employees with benefits and programs that address physical, mental, social, and financial health.
