Our services and support make a difference to Territorians by helping them to live the life they want to live.We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated person with a helpful attitude to join our family friendly, vibrant, and dynamic team.About the roleThe Payroll Coordinator is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across Somerville. This includes managing payroll processing, salary packaging, statutory obligations, and employment-related changes in line with legislative requirements and the Somerville Enterprise Agreement. The role provides practical support to leaders in reviewing and approving timesheets and leave, and ensures employees receive correct pay and entitlements. Working closely with internal teams, the Payroll Coordinator ensures payroll systems and processes operate effectively to support a positive employee experience, organisational compliance, and a well-managed workforce that delivers quality services in line with Somervilles values and NDIS obligations.What you can bringProven experience in end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-site, shift-based workforce, ideally within a 24/7 service environment, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, compliance obligations, and industrial instruments.Demonstrated ability to administer salary packaging, superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.High-level attention to detail and accuracy in processing and maintaining payroll data, with a focus on preventing errors and ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality.High-level communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical guidance to leaders and respond effectively to employee queries.Proficiency in payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft 365 applications, including strong Excel skills for reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support accurate, compliant, and coordinated payroll and workforce processes.Sound judgement and initiative, with the ability to escalate risks appropriately and contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes.Highly desirableRelevant qualification in Payroll, Business Administration, Human Resources, or Accounting, or current enrolment in such studies.Experience working in a not-for-profit or community services organisation, ideally within the disability or NDIS sector.Knowledge of the SCHADS Award, including the interpretation of entitlements and conditions relevant to payroll.Demonstrated ability to work within a culturally diverse environment, showing awareness and sensitivity towards different backgrounds and perspectives.Culture and benefitsCompetitive salary SCHADS Level 5.1 - $97,377.28 + superSalary packaging benefits to receive up to $15,900 of your salary tax-free5 weeks annual leavePaid parental leaveA focus on employee well-being, with regular supervision opportunitiesAccess to training and professional development opportunitiesAn Employee Assistance Program offering free and confidential counselling and supportFor any enquiries, please contact Rell Werner HR & Recruitment Consultant 08 8920 4100.Please note, applications will be reviewed and shortlisted on application, please do not wait to apply.Somerville is an equal opportunity employer providing a smoke free environment and is committed to the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people.Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply.PLEASE NOTE: Other vacancies that may arise in the future may also be filled from this selection process.No recruitment agencies please.Thank you for considering a position with Somerville Community Services. #J-18808-Ljbffr
