Thats why, were looking for ambitious people like yourself to join the team.About the RoleThe Head of Data Engineering is responsible for the Strategic Direction and daily Operations of the Data Engineering team with a key focus on spearheading the development, implementation and maintenance of the ONEData platform.Key AccountabilitiesLead the strategic direction and operations of PEXA''s Data Engineering function, overseeing the development and evolution of our ONEData platform while ensuring delivery of high-quality data solutions to all stakeholders.Build and mentor a high-performing Data Engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation while providing advanced technical guidance and leadership.Drive the architectural design and implementation of enterprise-wide data infrastructure, including processing systems and ETL pipelines, ensuring scalability and optimal performance.Partner with all of PEXA including key stakeholders to translate data business requirements into data solutions, serving as the primary point of contact for data delivery and engineering and maintaining strong customer relationships.Champion data governance and compliance while cultivating a data-driven culture across PEXA, including the development of educational programs and strategic initiatives that maximize the value of our data assets.Leading a team of Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers with strong agile methodologies and agile ways of working.Skills and ExperienceDegree qualified in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with extensive leadership experience in Data Engineering at a strategic level.Proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions, with deep expertise in SQL, Python, ETL frameworks and database architecture.Extensive knowledge of and experience with the ONEData platform or similar data platforms.Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing data teams, fostering a data-driven culture across complex organizations.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders and drive actionable insights from data.Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with experience in delivering enterprise-wide data solutions while maintaining robust governance and compliance standards.In the spirit of reconciliation PEXA acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
