The University is ranked #1 globally and nationally in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings in 2022, 2023, and 2024 for its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.About the roleThe School of Health Sciences at Western Sydney University is seeking the services of an experienced Project Support officer to provide project support to a collaborative team of WSU academic and professional staff from the School of Health Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery and Translational Health Research Institute who have partnered with a number of grassroots community-based organisations and mosques to codesign and deliver a project funded by the NSW Premiers Department, Women NSW focusing on womens Reproductive Health.The project is titled Womens Awareness in Reproductive Aafiya (WARDA) and intends to work through a Community Based Participatory Research model with Muslim communities to codesign, deliver and evaluate reproductive health resources for and with Muslim women (age 18 45) in NSW. WARDA has received ethics approval, and is currently in the codesign phase, progressing to delivery and evaluation phase.There are three key objectives:Complete codesigning of health resources by engaging with Muslim communities, Muslim women and health professionals in the region;Delivery and evaluation of the health resources through workshops in grassroots organisations in NSW and through social media platforms;Increase engagement of Muslim women, Muslim communities, Muslim health professionals and health services across NSW.Role and TasksThe successful candidate''s tasks will revolve around contributing to all three aims, which involves supporting the codesign and delivery of WARDA health resources across NSW through mosques and grassroots community organisation engagement, organising face-to-face and virtual events/meetings with grassroots organisations who work directly with Muslim women, to organise codesign, resource delivery and evaluation workshops. They will also support the continued administration of the project, including data collection and analysis for monitoring and quality assurance purposes, social media engagement and other administrative tasks as required.About YouThe successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in health, social work, project management, or related areas, or have equivalent experience relevant to the position. You will demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of project coordination skills, including the ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and disseminate health promotion projects, and report on their outcomes. Your experience will include planning stakeholder engagement activities and managing stakeholder relationships within Muslim communities from diverse ethnic backgrounds. You will have high-level organisational, administrative, and computer literacy skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritise tasks, and manage organisational information. Additionally, you will be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multi-locational team environment, interpreting, developing, and applying policies and procedures effectively. You will also have excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, including the ability to write project briefs, produce detailed reports, and develop professional relationships.Working with Children Check:It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Campbelltown campus; however, as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university, travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise.If this sounds like an opportunity for you, we want to hear from you!
