This role is a full-time and permanent position based in Laverton North, Melbourne.You will be responsible for creating manufacturing plans and ensuring their execution to guarantee on-time product delivery in line with customer orders. Daily production schedules are used to meet monthly targets. The Planner collaborates with other internal departments and closely monitors the production schedule, making adjustments as needed, such as when there are delays in supply chain, resources or other manufacturing issues.Your responsibilities will be:Planning & OperationsProvide accurate production planning that typically covers a minimum time horizon of 4 weeks.Provide a Capacity Planning view of 12 months rolling based on firm orders and 12 months forecast.Monitor daily performance of plan against the production execution.Ensure appropriate loading and reallocation of Customer Serial Numbers (CSN) against production orders.Ensure STOs are firmed against finished products (MTS) to allow the sales orders to be firmed against the ATP rules.Ensure plans are developed by production work-center to ensure deliverables can be achieved.Provide continued support to production team leaders and supervisors who will assist in the execution of the production plan.Communicate between internal departments, any issues that may slow or stop the production plan from being executed on time.Identify material variances against production orders and highlight any discrepancies back to the procurement team before production orders are created.Provide customers with production build plans (firm start and completion dates) as required.Ensure that production orders are closed out when production jobs are completed.Ensure that production orders are moved out in the event of production stoppages related to reasons such as quality, availability of material or any other reason that either delays or stops production.Schedule New and Meter Refurbishment planning requirements in SAP.Ensure the Meter Refurbishment process against raw materials does not impact new meter production.Work with the production team leaders to resolve backlog and develop recovery plans where required.Computer SystemsProduce reports which are appropriate to the production planning function which fairly and accurately convey information relating to performance and business activity.Maintain the input of all new products within the manufacturing operating system, inclusive of BOM set-up and maintenance.Familiar with SAP Production Planning module.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to be used for analysing reports from SAP.People PracticesDevelop and maintain effective relations with all personnel who may have an influence on the production planning process.Interface with Product Managers around product needs.Make recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager on the training needs.Manage Energy Better: Consciously drive for continuous improvement in reusing, recycling or reducing waste.Maintain awareness of identified and potential health and safety, quality and environmental aspects within the workplace and their impact, including the reporting of any accidents/incidents/near misses or hazards.Act responsibly to meet the objectives/requirements at the appropriate level as described in the Health, Safety and Integrated Management Systems.Key MetricsMaintain inventory limits as agreed with the business.Manage Customer requirements ensuring delivery dates are always met.Ensure MRP is kept up to date.About you:You will bring a minimum of 2 years experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment. You will also be competent with SAP Production Planning Module, and using Microsoft Office.
