Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.Job Summary:In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.Major Responsibilities:Prepares construction drawings and sketches.Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.Interprets mechanical design drawings, codes and specifications, equipment installation, and field verification of materials.Coordinates design issues relating to the mechanical discipline such as mechanical equipment installation, maintenance, and testing.Works with the engineering and procurement organizations to ensure that design documents, drawings and vendor manuals are on site prior to the receipt of the equipment.Coordinates with vendor technical advisors as required.Responsible for mechanical quantity take-off, control, verification and reporting installed quantities.Performs inspections of all mechanical work in progress on a continual basis.Completes and documents final inspections of completed mechanical installations to ensure quality and conformance to specifications and codes.Develops punch lists and monitors completion of punch items.Material Management:Initiates requisitions for field purchases.Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.Reviews material receiving reports and performs material receiving inspections.Quantities:Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.Reporting on daily and weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.Safety / Quality Control:Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area.Perform quality control inspections and manage associated Inspection and Test Records (ITRs).Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to Turnover.Technical:Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills:Must be familiar with internationally accepted mechanical codes and standards (e.g. Australian Codes and Standards, API, and ASME).Compressor, generator, turbine - installs, inspections, servicing, and alignments knowledge.Pump installs, inspections, servicing, and alignments knowledge.Knowledge of Flange face machining.Fin fan cooler motors - new installs, shaft bearings installs & replacements, alignments.Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations.Understands the application of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant Bechtel design guides.Broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D), CAE and relevant Bechtel Standard Computer Applications.Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.Understanding of relevant industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria.Able to work night shift and day shift when the business need arises.Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.We are a 2024 Circle Back Initiative Employer & commit to respond to every applicant.Additional Information:This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products are permitted to be brought to the site.This position is available to both local and non-local personnel.
