As a Trainee Public Health Officer, you''ll gain specialist skills in public health policy and practice and learn from experts in the field.Several traineeships are available to commence in August 2025.Remuneration: Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $110,266 - $122,058 plus Super and annual leave loading.Hours per week: 35Location: St LeonardsWhere you''ll be workingYou will undertake supervised work placements in a range of locations within the NSW health system. You may be offered the opportunity to complete a rural placement, however most placements are within the Sydney metropolitan area.What you''ll be doingYou will complete projects and activities that support the application of evidence-based research in all aspects of public health policy and practice to meet organisational priorities. The role aims to build the capacity of the population health workforce in NSW and forms part of the public health emergency surge capacity for NSW Health during public health incidents.About youWe are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health who have:A masters or doctoral degree in public health or a public health field.A minimum of three years of full-time equivalent health related employment.A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.In addition, due to the competitive nature of these traineeships, work experience in a public health or population health role is highly desirable.How to applyTo be considered for an interview, your application must include the following attachments:A response to the two target questions (no more than 2 pages in total).An up-to-date resume/CV including your health-related experience (no more than 5 pages).A full academic transcript for your public health qualification.Evidence of your right to work in Australia for the duration of the traineeship (e.g. Australian or New Zealand passport or Australian birth certificate, citizenship certificate, or permanent residency visa).
