Fortescues Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex PerthWe are seeking an experienced and active Health & Safety Advisor to support Hedland Operations, across various departments. This role will be reporting to the Superintendent Health and Safety within the Integrated Operations team.This role will involve collaborating with the Port & Rail Operational teams as well as the Health, Safety and Emergency Services (HSES) team to promote a strong safety culture, drive continuous improvements, and advise on the management of Work, Health and Safety (WHS) risks across the operation.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide advice and perform coaching with Supervisors and similar leaders with regards to WHS activities and obligations.Facilitate and support incident investigations, risk assessments and critical risk management processes.Develop and mentor Health and Safety Representatives.Provide guidance to contractors and operational teams ensuring WHS obligations are communicated and adhered to.Conduct regular workplace inspections and assurance activities.Review data to identify trends, improve risk management and ensure safety activities.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualifications (Diploma minimum) in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent).5 10 years of experience in Health and Safety (Advisor level), preferably in a FIFO capacity.Certification in Incident Investigation (ICAM, TapRoot, Essential Factors) and Lead Auditor (preferred).Exceptional communication, cooperation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.Ability to mentor, coach, and influence teams to foster a culture of safety and compliance.Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and risk-based thinking.About UsBe part of something big.
